Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II

12th of September, 2022

On behalf of the members of the Parish Council, we should like to express our great sorrow on the passing of our Monarch .

Her late Majesty knew this area well, she loved this area, her own estate of the Duchy of Lancaster starts a mere few miles west of the Parish.

Her Majesty seemed so timeless, a bastion of stability and continuity in good times and bad, who we all felt would just continue to go on and on.

The Queen offered us all a masterclass in how to accomplish courage with dignity whilst always showing modesty and great empathy for others. Her Majesty sustained  a long and glorious record of service to everyone in this country and the Commonwealth nations, regardless of their faith, ethnicity, gender and beliefs – a great example to us all.

It will take some time for many people to realise and truly understand what we have lost. We can only thank her for everything, and ensure that she will be forever remembered.

God bless your Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and God save the King.
