Do you have gifts, food, groceries or even balls of wool you will not use?

29th of January, 2021

This year, more than usually, many of us will have gifts which we will not use; perhaps did not need. These may include luxury foods, or possibly toiletries.

Often such items would be donated to charity shops, but of course they are closed; so, what to do?

A lady from Chatburn is co-ordinating donations with the church groups and some such donations will be used for Maunday Relief Charity in Accrington & Burnley Together. Other donations will be used for Healthier Heroes CIC, who have transformed a derelict building in central Burnley into a 25 bed house to support war veterans. https://healthierheroescic.co.uk/

Chatburn Craft & Chatter Group members have been busy crocheting & knitting for charity, including sending 11 blankets, 10 jumpers, 2 teddies & 2 sets of baby clothes to International Aid. If you have any spare balls of wool (large or small) to donate so they can continue with the work, they would be delighted!

Ribble Valley Foodbank has a most wanted list for items desperately needed: Sponge puddings, rice pudding, tinned custard, long life juice, cleaning products, laundry cleaning powder / liquid. https://ribblevalley.foodbank.org.uk/contact-us/

Teresa Taylor, Parish Clerk has contact numbers for donation points & she would be pleased to hear from you. You can use the contact form in this website, or ring her on 01200 422607
